Flower City Masonry, founded in 1988 by George Bethlendy, started out as a small residential masonry contracting business with Frank Szente. Year by year and step by step, we advanced ourselves and the company. With careful planning and reinvesting, we were able to start competing in the commercial masonry industry. In just a few years, Flower City Masonry became one of the few masonry contractors capable of completing "big box" stores on schedule. As our name and reputation have grown, so has our client list, which includes Wal‐Mart, Lowe’s, Target, Walgreens and Rite Aid. FCM, Inc. has also worked with Stone Construction Equipment on the testing of the Groutzilla grout dispensing machine.
Flower City Masonry is a current member of the Rochester Builders Exchange. All employees have completed the OSHA 10 hour safety course and continually attend additional training for aerial lifts, fall protection, scaffold safety and more. Fully equipped and trained on the most state of the art equipment available, Flower City Masonry is always looking for fresh ideas and new ways to perform above and beyond the competition.
Even in extreme winter conditions, we are capable of maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines. The addition of a fully dedicated office staff in 2007, dramatically streamlined document submittal and paperwork turn around time.
